Emerge DRPT Catalogue
This project is a cover design created for OCAD University’s 2022 Drawing & Painting (DRPT) Catalogue, which was sold during GradEx and developed in collaboration with the members of the OCAD U DRPT Catalogue Committee. The result is a cover that is colourful and fluid, representing the range of art within the catalogue, paired with the title and year hidden within the negative space of the shapes, allowing the words to slowly emerge from the cover.

Design Process
1. BRAINSTORMING
The DRPT Catalogue Committee all discussed ideas and imagery for the theme ‘emerge’. There were a lot of conflicting opinions on what people wanted, so I chose to explore a range of designs to eventually narrow down on.
2. VERSION ONE
After the committee discussion, I developed some initial ideas for the typographic text and loosely paired them with a matching background. People then provided comments and suggestions to further look into.
3. FINAL VOTING
The final batch of designs were mainly extensions of the first version, where it combined and tested variations of the designs that the committee liked. With this second version, people were ready to vote, which resulted in N and O.
